The Voodstock Jazz Festival, Woodstock,
NY, 1981, was a celebration of the tenth
anniversary of the Creative Music Studio
(CMS).
Founded in 1971 by Karl Berger and
Omette Colernan, the Creative Music Studio
(CMS) was a community of world-class
musicians performing in an atmosphere
that disintegrated conventions of form and
style and restructured the music in nevw
and exciting ways, ushering in a whole
new generation of jazz.
